Rx for big fat legs

Dear Lucy,

Should I be ashamed of my big fat legs? Is there any way I could make them thinner?

Fat Legs

Beauty is relative – and the first step to radiating beauty is accepting the body that you were born with. If your legs are big because you are overweight, make an effort to lose weight. If however, your legs are part and parcel of your bone structure, you should simply concentrate on keeping them soft, smooth and blemish-free. Fashion can be a powerful, feel-good tool, too, as you can use it to downplay what you want disguised and emphasize what you are proud of.

Put your chin up and smile – you can be beautiful in whatever shape and form God made you.

Whiitening Dark Underarms
Dear Mary,

I have a major problem regarding my underarms. They’re beginning to darken. I only have two more weeks to whiten them before the special occasion that I have to attend comes. Please help me find a good product that produces fast results but is affordable.

Tricia

The Landmark Department Store has special kits that contain the ingredients for bleaching the underarms. Read the labels and choose the one that is appropriate for you. If you live in the province, call Julia T at (02)374-4201 – you can order the underarm whitening product by mail.

Shine, Hair Shine!
Dear Ate Tingting,

My hair is dry and dull so I always use a hair shiner cream to make it shiny. But instead of becoming shiny and soft, it has become very oily and flaky. What did I do wrong? Could you please tell me the right way of applying hair shiner to the hair? What brand would you recommend that’s not so expensive?

Angela

Don’t apply the hair shine spray or gloss on your scalp. Spray or rub it on the hair, especially at the tips to avoid split ends. I use Citre shine spray.

Say No To Pill For Back Pimples
Dear Mary,

I read your article about back pimples and it inspired me to write you ’coz I do have more pimples in my back (actually, my whole back and some in my chest) than on my face. It all started when I was in second year college and got worse when I started reviewing for my board exams. I went to different dermatologists and they gave me different treatments and ointments (medicines made by them). But nothing worked and I think my pimples even got worst. And to think I spent quite a lot of money! I really miss having soft skin on my back and wearing back-baring clothes. One of my friends advised me to take pills (I don’t know if they’re birth control pills or what). According to her, these pills are very effective and widely used by most gays and women working in Japan so they’d have beautiful skin. I would like to try this option, but I’m scared because I’m single and I don’t know the side effects if I take these pills. At the same time, she didn’t tell me what particular pill to buy. Is there a beauty pill that could help me regain my soft skin?

Desperate Girl

Please don’t take any pills when you do not know what they contain. Clinique has something very effective called Stop, a blemish-control substance. It’s a roll-on liquid and comes in a tube. Clarins also has a creme for pimples, but I don’t recommend it because if you put in on your back, it will rub off. If you cannot afford the above, try Eskinol – it dries pimples very effectively.
