A show about freedom, fashion & fun

The night sky over Eastwood Citywalk in Libis, Quezon City sparkled in all shades of pink one night in November when Pantene unveiled its latest hair care product – one which promises to give women everywhere the license to liberate themselves from all hair worries and freely experiment with their crowning glory. The birth of the new Pantene Total Care Conditioner gave cause for the celebration dubbed as the Pantene Freedom Party.

The night, which turned out to be more than just one big party, boasted a heavy lineup of surprises that served a smorgasbord feast for the senses. Local R&B Princess Arnee Hidalgo and the country’s most- sought-after popcappella group– the Akafellas – provided the music for the certified audiophiles among the crowd.

For the dance lovers, the Pantene Freedom Party Cheering Competition showcased routines from the San Sebastian Recoletos Pep Squad, the CCP Bobcats, and the Mapua Cheerping Cardinals, with the latter bagging the grand prize for their unbeatable choreography and stunts. The Company of Ateneo Dancers (CADS) also participated in a special opening number that brought the house down and sent the ball rolling for a truly tremendous show.

Well, Pantene certainly catered to women’s sensible vanities that night through its free hair and makeup consultation booths manned by its partner salons Bergmann Hair & More, Menage by Hair Impressions, Hairbytes Eastwood, The Fanny Serrano Salon, and Salon de Orient.

To cap the night off, a grand fashion show featuring a bevy of Manila’s top mannequins and student models sashayed down the ramp, showing off various hairstyles crafted by salon geniuses around the metro. Levi’s and the Fanny Serrano Salon teamed up to create funky twisted tresses to go with the brand’s cutting-edge denim styles. Bergmann Hair & More presented colored hairstyles to highlight the Asian-inspired collection of Sari-Sari. Freeway’s sporty-glam outfit complemented the curled looks by Salon de Orient. Mod styles were creatively interpreted by Salon de Manila and U by Rustan’s black and white ensembles, and the classic elegance of Bayo apparel perfectly fit Hairbytes Eastwood’s timeless hair-down fashion.

Pantene endorser Angel Aquino ended the fashion show with a call to the crowd to step up to a new level of conditioning and switch to the new Pantene Total Care Conditioner, a product that provides total hair protection from sun exposure, coloring, perming, straightening, and all other chemical treatments that put hair to the test.

And true to its promise of an all-night, all-out freedom party, the Pantene Freedom Crew, led by prolific TV host Shaan Bermudez, raided Blue Onion, Amoeba and Basement Bars and partied some more with the crowd loaded with Pantene’s brand of glamorous, spunky, and funky fun. Erg drinks overflowed as the celebration went on till the wee hours of the morning, with lady guests dancing and cheering in celebration of their newfound hair freedom.
