Oh, what a sexy 2003 summer!

Luxury and glamour are key words in the 2003 forecast for swimsuits. Spanish designer Andres Sarda whose collections are sold in Harrods, Selfridge, Barneys and the streets of Ginza proposes swimsuits and resort attire, which he envisions to be worn in luxurious yachts reminiscent of the ’70s. Take it from the Spanish, these swimsuits are guaranteed to make you the star of the night in those cocktails by the poolside.

The swimsuits came in the most unconventional styles – they turned into sophisticated evening wear, bikini tops into sheer blouses while tops lengthened to become romantic dresses. Foulards or sarongs were wrapped around to play with the figure. Catsuits with low V-necks plunging to the belly button were advised only for those who are gifted enough to wear them and daring enough to bare. For those who want to play it on the safe side, sailor-style resort attire with stripes is the way to go. Suggestive openings, from lateral to frontal with adornments, defined Sarda’s collection. Sewn into garments were Costume jewelry such as stones, metallic rings, chains and interwoven coin trimmings, which added glamour to what would have been just an ordinary swimsuit or resort attire.

Don’t forget the accessories for the total vamp look: Bandana for your hair, wide pastel glasses, high heels, dangling earrings and soft makeup for a total hot look this summer.
