Robinsons Retail Group receives two major awards from PRA

MANILA, Philippines - Four business units under Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. (RRHI) were the recipients of two major awards and two nominations at the recent 17th Outstanding Filipino Retailers and Shopping Centers of the Year Awards Night organized by the Philippine Retailer’s Association held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas. 

The event, which put the spotlight on outstanding retailers and shopping centers that raise the bar of the retail industry through innovation, creativity and passion, was graced by Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo, who also chairs the awards; and guest of honor Department of Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez.

RRHI joined the prestigious pool of 24 other retailers and shopping centers recognized by PRA in its 17th year, bringing to fore Robinsons’ invaluable contribution to the local market and national economy. These are: Handyman (winner, Home Improvement Category); Dorothy Perkins (winner for Foreign Brand Apparel, Medium Category); True Value (finalist for Foreign Brand, Category Killer); and Toys “R” Us (finalist for Foreign Brand, Category Killer).

True Value, a PRA finalist, goes beyond the conventional do-it-yourself store set-up to a family-friendly lifestyle retail space that highlights its product mix offer — a unique range of local and imported products. 

Another finalist, Toys “R” Us is the go-to-store for toy lovers of all ages. It offers an unparalleled selection of toys, games, learning aids, electronics, outdoor playsets and juvenile products and boasts its own line of private brands and exclusive merchandise.

RRHI operates in six business segments namely, supermarkets (Robinsons Supermarket), department stores (Robinsons Department Store), DIY stores (Handyman Do It Best, True Value and Howards Storage World), convenience stores (Ministop), drugstores (South Star Drug and Manson Drug) and specialty stores (from consumer electronics and appliances retailer Robinsons Appliances to toys retailer Toys “R” Us, one price point retailer Daiso Japan . Meanwhile, RRHI’s fashion retail arm, Robinsons Specialty Stores, Inc. (RSSI) operates Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Warehouse, Miss Selfridge, River Island, Ben Sherman, Shana, G2000 and Basic House.
