MANILA, Philippines - Asiawide Refreshments Corporation (ARC), the licensed manufacturer and distributor of RC Cola, was recently named the second leading taxpayer in one of the fastest-growing cities in the country today.
ARC, which had put up its major bottling plant in Antipolo City, gained recognition as the “Top 2 Business Taxpayer” of this city in 2010. It was conferred the award for “demonstrating punctuality in settling their obligations to the city government and their outstanding performance of their duties in the community.”
Rounding out the top 10 business taxpayers in Antipolo city were: QCSV (10th); Manila Water Co. Inc. (9th); People’s Retail System Inc. (8th); Golden Arches Development Corporation (7th); Hizon Laboratories, Inc. (6th); Philippine Paper Inc. (5th); Wrigley’s Philippines Inc. (4th); Mercury Drug (3rd) and Solid Cement Corporation.
The award, which was handed out during the 3rd Annual Golden Tipolo Awards on the 13th anniversary of the cityhood of Antipolo, was given out by Antipolo Mayor Danilo O. Leyble.
“Kami po’y nagpapasalamat dahil sa patuloy at katangi-tanging ninyong paglilingkod sa ating bayan,” beamed Mayor Leyble in his opening remarks. “Malaki po ang naitutulong ninyo sa lungsod ng Antipolo sa larangan ng kabuhayan at pagbibigay ng hanap-buhay sa ating mga kababayan. Maraming salamat po.”
For his part, Abet Angeles, plant controller of the ARC bottling plant in Antipolo City who received the award on behalf of the company, expressed thanks to the city government, saying, “We’re happy that the local government of Antipolohas recognized our efforts. We’ve been dutifully paying our taxes and strictly following city ordinances because it’s the only way we could give back to the Antipolo City government and its residents who have been very supportive of our endeavors. We’re also thankful to the community and to our customers for their continued trust and patronage of RC Cola products.”
A century-old global brand, RC Cola products have since been warmly embraced by the local folks in Antipolo City owing to its refreshing taste and value-for-money proposition.
