Robinsons Department Store awarded valuable prizes to the winners of several major promotions held in 2008.
Diamond necklace winners
As a way of thanking its loyal shoppers, it gave away three diamond necklaces worth P100,000 each to three winners in its Beauty Fair promotion. The 18-carat omega white-gold necklaces with 1.92-carat diamonds were awarded by Rochelle Sison to the delight of everyone who witnessed the turnover ceremony.
Lucie Taton, a supervisor at an employment agency, could not contain her excitement when told that she won a diamond necklace. Months ago, while visiting a friend in Bacolod, she shopped at Robinsons Department Store and dropped 10 entries for the “Beauty Fair” raffle draw. Little did she know that her trip to the province would bring her good luck.
Aubrey Chua was also one of the lucky winners. Although a loyal patron of Robinsons Department Store’s branches in Galleria and Manila, “winning a diamond necklace still came as a surprise,” said this 24-year-old employee of an international banking institution.
Marikina City resident Jeannie Rose Belen initially could not believe that she won one of the grand prizes. Thinking someone was playing a prank on her, she asked members of her family to verify the news with a Robinsons Department Store representative. It was only when they finally saw the beautiful necklace that they exclaimed, “It was real!”
A P50,000 shopping spree each, on the other hand, was won by Violeta Calminero, 61 years old, housewife from Makati City; Maritess Garcia, 40, water supply business owner from Bacoor, Cavite; Ma. Kathrina Milette Patio, 22, employee from Pasay City; and Dolores Lim, 41, a businesswoman from Valenzuela City.
Iphone winners
Meanwhile, in the Undergarments Fair promotion, cool iPhone units were given away to three customers whose names were drawn in the grand raffle.
Rose Dupalco couldn’t believe it when she received a letter stating that she had won an Apple iPhone from Robinsons Department Store. She was ecstatic.
Victoria Castañeda and her husband were gracious enough to bring the staff of Robinsons Department Store a delicacy from their province, buko pie, when they claimed their prize. “It was a little token we brought along from San Pablo City, Laguna.” According to Castañeda, their daughter, who is a medical student at UP Manila, would be very happy to use the iPhone since she had just celebrated her debut. “It would go well with the new laptop that we bought for her,” she enthused. They said that their daughter deserves these gifts because she excels in school.
Another iPhone winner, Elizabeth Fernandez, was not able to travel all the way from Dagupan to Manila to claim her prize because she was tending to their store. Her husband, Roger, received the prize on her behalf and was excited to rush home so their children could start using this cool gadget.
