Philippine Opera Company’s Young Artists Series 2 opens with ‘The Mikado’

MANILA, Philippines - The second season of Philippine Opera Company’s Young Artists Series opens with “Opera Sung. Opera Acted” featuring some of the country’s leading theater actors joining the Young Artists in a rollicking and fun performance of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado on Aug. 14, 6:30 p.m., at the Opera Haus.

The Mikado — a comic opera in two acts with music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by W. S. Gilbert — features Jon Vera Perez, Al Gatmaitan, Jun Ofracio, Nomer Son, Cris Go, Paulina Yeung, Karla Gutierrez and Clarissa Ocampo with the special participation of Roden Araneta. Accompanying artists for the evening are Karl Estudillo and Marvin Dizon.
