David Foster performs in Manila for the first time

MANILA, Philippines - Pop songs come and go, but brilliance is forever.

This describes the career of David Foster — 15-time Grammy winner, record producer, composer, singer, songwriter and arranger. Foster will be performing in Manila for the first time with his friends, Natalie Cole, Charice, Peter Cetera, Ruben Studdard and the Canadian Tenors on Saturday, Oct. 23, 8 p.m. at the Araneta Coliseum. David Foster describes the show as an “evening of my music — and sometimes it won’t be my music.” Cole, with whom Foster had one big hit, will also do some of her own songs. Charice, Cetera, Studdard and the Canadian Tenors are expected to interpret Foster’s songs. Foster produced and wrote hits like Hard to Say I’m Sorry (Chicago), The Glory of Love (Peter Cetera), Man in Motion (John Parr), Unbreak My Heart (Toni Braxton), I Will Always Love You (Whitney Houston), I Swear (All-4-One) and Because You Love Me (Celine Dion), among others. Other production and writing credits followed with hits by Alice Cooper, Al Jarreau, Hall and Oates, Kenny Rogers, Kenny Loggins, Boz Scaggs and Olivia Newton-John. Tickets to the David Foster concert are available at Ticketnet (991-5555).
