‘Salute! Homage to the Masters’ at Metro Gallery

MANILA, Philippines - Renato Habulan, Tyago Almario, Julio Jose Austria, Jojo Barja, Lawrence Borsoto, EJ Cabangon, Bjorn Calleja, Ronald Caringal, Salvador Ching, Buds Convocar, Grace Corpuz, Jigger Cruz, Don Dalmacio, Parker Encisa, Pedro Garcia, Carlo Gernale, Vladimir Grutas, Joselito Jandayan, May Jandayan, Jon Jaylo, Jojo Lofranco, Jason Montinola, Mervin Pimentel, Elmer Roslin, Rovi Salegumba, Aner Sebastian, Robert Shook, CJ Tañedo, Kadin Tiu and Clairelynn Uy present a montage of paintings that salute, cheer and give a toast to stirring explorations and infinite experimentations of art-making in “Salute! Homage to the Masters,” which is on view until Aug. 15 at Metro Gallery, 455 P. Guevarra St., San Juan.

Geraldo, Gonzales and Valenzuela at Alliance Francaise Total Gallery

Visayan terra cotta artists Joe Geraldo and Israel Gonzales together with Dumaguete sculptor Mark Valenzuela explore the myriad possibilities and potentials of clay in “Gingikanan (Origins),” which opens on Aug. 3 at the Alliance Francaise Total Gallery, 209 Nicanor Garcia St., Bel-Air 2, Makati City. The show runs until Aug. 26.

“Gingikanan” is a Hiligaynon word (ginikanan in Cebuano), which means roots or origin.
