Summer workshops at CCP
MANILA, Philippines - The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) has lined up various activities for children, teens and adults alike this summer.
Aspiring actors and actresses can enroll in the theater workshops conducted by Tanghalang Pilipino. Children under the age of 13 can attend Children’s Theater 1 (for five to eight years old) and Children’s Theater 2 (nine to 12 years old).
Teenagers can choose between Teen Theater (13 to 16 years old) and Music Theater for Teens (13 to 16 years old), while the more experienced ones can participate in Basic Acting or Acting in Musical Theater (17 years old and above).
There’s also Rehearsal and Performance Techniques Workshop and Event Production and Stage Management Workshop (18 years old and above).
Ballet Philippines alumni and members will offer Baby Ballet, Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Hip-Hop, Creative Movement, Improvisation and Dance Composition workshops.
The five-week dance intensive programs will culminate in a grand performance at the CCP Main Theater in May.

Philippine Opera Company holds voice and instrument lessons
The Philippine Opera Company offers lessons in voice, piano, guitar, basic theory, violin, as well as “Buddy Lessons,” voice and instrument lessons designed for couples or friends who may want to study voice or the same instrument together.
Voice students have the option to choose from varied repertoires including classical, pop, Broadway/musical theater, jazz and standards.
There’s also “Music and Movement” workshops, which are especially designed for toddlers, children, pre-teens and teens from April 4 to May 8.
Theater professionals under the supervision of the Philippine Opera Company’s faculty will head all workshops.
There will be a culminating recital on May 9 at the Carlos P. Romulo Theater, RCBC Plaza in Makati City.
