MANILA, Philippines - Dulaang UP presents Maria Stuart, directed by Tony Mabesa, which runs until Dec. 6 at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater in UP Diliman from Wednesday to Saturday at 7 p.m., and weekends at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
This is a production inspired by the Donmar Warehouse Production of Friedrich Von Schiller’s Mary Stuart, which ran on Broadway for a limited time, and had seven Tony Awards nominations including the Best Performance by Janet Mcteer.
A tragic story of seduction, greed, deception, power, love, and religion, Maria Stuart shows two iconic women whose struggle for power exemplifies one of the most moving and thrilling displays of passion and politics the world has ever seen.
Maria Stuart features Tes Dumpit on stage after a decade, Banaue Miclat of the Lincoln Center Metropolitan Opera, Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino, Stella Cañete, Ana Abad Santos, Flor Salanga, Floy Quintos, and the Dulaang UP Ensemble.
