The Dalmore, a contemporary British Luxury brand considered the world’s most revered single malt whisky, has reached Philippine shores and landed on the lips of the Philippines’ elite when Master Distiller Richard Paterson graced an exclusive whisky dinner at Impressions — the home of The Dalmore — in Maxims Hotel at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
The Dalmore has a well-established and legendary brand heritage of bravery, which goes back to 1263 when Colin of Kintail, chief of the Clan Mackenzie, saved the life of King Alexander III of Scotland. As a sign of gratitude, the monarch awarded land and gave the clan the right to bear a 12-pointed Royal Stag as its crest. Clan descendants Andrew and Charles Mackenzie, who owned and managed a distillery in 1867, chose the 12-pointed Royal Stag as The Dalmore’s emblem
The Dalmore 15, The Dalmore King Alexander III, The Dalmore 25 and The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve perfectly complement the five-course dinner that executive chef Cyrille Soenen presented the guests. Another highlight of the evening was the rare The Dalmore Constellation 1973, which was aged in American oak barrels for 38 years.
Flying in straight from Scotland, Richard Paterson met the Philippine business industry’s most influential to show them how best to appreciate what is considered the world’s most revered whisky. Paterson is known among whisky connoisseurs around the world as “The Nose” for his unique skill in identifying whisky notes. He was in the Philippines as part of his 2015 Asian Tour.
The Dalmore is now available at World’s Finest Liquor at Resorts World Manila.
