The yearly diplomatic beach barbecue at the Tali beach residence of Costa Rica Honorary Consul Fausto Preysler is always a welcome respite for the members of the diplomatic and consular corps.
Ambassadors, diplomats and businessmen make sure they take time out from their busy schedules to enjoy a relaxing day of fun with the cool air, warm sun, pristine beach and fine sand all providing the perfect ambience for the sprawling Tali Beach home of Fausto and his charming wife Ane Miren Aboitiz-Preysler.
Guests brave the two- to three-hour trip to attend the regular out-of-town luncheon, not wanting to miss the “world famous” Mongolian barbecue that the Preyslers never fail to serve — a favorite of everyone. As friends from the diplomatic corps remark, Fausto’s fare is definitely world famous because it is something that guests — who represent virtually all parts of the globe — always look forward to.
Even Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario goes out of his way to join the fun, flying in and out by helicopter to be with the honorary consuls and diplomats who all look so relaxed amid the informal setting punctuated by attractive beach chairs placed under palm trees where one can view the clear waters of Nasugbu, Batangas.
