Prominent personalities from the metro’s high society gathered once again at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La to attend the annual gala dinner concert of Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines (JSSP).
With the theme “An Evening with Strauss,†this year’s elegant and exclusive affair featured the enchanting compositions of “Waltz King†Johann Strauss as performed by the world-class Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of renowned Austrian conductor Dr. Ernest Hoetzl, who was flown in specially for this occasion. Meanwhile, the talented soloists of Ballet Philippines gave life to Strauss’ waltzes and polkas with their wonderful performances.
Making sure that everything ran smoothly all throughout the evening were the gracious ladies of the steering committee led by JSSP president Olga Martel together with chairman and Monaco Consul General Fortune Ledesma, vice president and Gambia Consul Agnes Huibonhoa, secretary and Tanzania Consul Betty Chua and treasurer Virginia Lane.
The annual gala night is indeed a fulfillment of JSSP’s objectives as this yearly activity not only enhances the members’ appreciation and love for dance and music but also serves as a means to raise funds for charitable causes and the organization’s beneficiaries. The posh event also served as a farewell party for Austrian Ambassador Wilhelm Donko and charming wife Yan.
Extending their support for this noteworthy gathering were major sponsors Lexus Manila and Universal Harvester.
Bravo and congratulations to the lovely and hardworking JSSP officers for this magnificent gala!
