For the love of ballet

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul, of the body.” – Martha Graham

It was a dazzling evening of Filipino artistry in song and dance — performed with a contemporary take on opera and ballet — at the ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La. Entitled “Sing, Dance, Love, Change,” the fundraising event was presented by Ballet Philippines in cooperation with the Philippine Opera Company’s Ang Bagong Harana.

Under Ballet Philippines president Margie Moran-Floirendo’s execution, the show, a unique mix of ballet and song, was a success. It gathered 400 guests.

The VIPs seen at the event included Ballet Philippines chairman Antonio “Tonyboy” Cojuangco and vice chair Maan Hontiveros, Angola Consul Helen Ong, former ramp models Ping Valencia and Minnie Cagatao-Lawrie.

Proceeds of the event went to the ballet scholarships of the company’s gifted ballet dancers to further hone their talent.

Congratulations to Margie and the rest of the people responsible for the successful event!
