It was a high-spirited night for wine and art connoisseurs and bons vivants as the world’s leading luxury cognac brand Hennessy unveiled a masterpiece — the prestigious special edition of X.O Mathusalem — in an intriguing designer case. Its packaging alone is a commissioned art by Israeli-born, Paris-based artist Arik Levy whose masterpieces are in great demand by museums and international collectors of modern art.
The multi-faceted, geometric-cut case of X.O Mathusalem, covered in fine Barenia calfskin and embossed with patterns, contains a six-liter decanter of the iconic cognac from France including a fusil.
The exclusive launch — a special treat from the Hennessy ambassadeur de maison Jean-Michel Cochet who came to the Philippines just for this event — was a grandiose, strictly by-invitation-only affair.
The Philippines’ country representative for Moët Hennessy Olga Azarcon and Moët Hennessy Asia-Pacific business development manager Randy Uson joined Israeli Ambassador Menashe Bar-On, French Ambassador Gilles Garachon and Indonesian Ambassador Yohanes Kristiarto Legowo, Federal Land, Inc. president Alfred Ty, Lucerne managing director Ivan Yao, ACE Hardware Inc. president Johnny Cobankiat and other VIP guests at The Peninsula Manila Rigodon Ballroom.
