Beyond Madness

The world of cinema and television has become inspirations in creating fashion. Fashion is going crazy and it’s a mad, mad world out there.

Take for example Mad Men, the three-time Emmy Award winner for outstanding drama series, which has taken global fashion current season by storm. The drama series is noted for its impeccable ‘60s setting and style. Its chic look has transcended from television to the runway. International designer brands like Fendi, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Loewe and Michael Kors have undeniably taken inspiration from the Mad Men.

With the return of minimalism, clean lines and modern tailoring are presented in nostalgic reinventions of the ‘50s and ‘60s. In the Philippines, C Women is creating a current “mad” statement for working women. The latest collection presents an updated version of the corporate look. Veering away from all that glam and party, the minimalist approach is all about chic tailoring with today’s hottest neutrals  grays and camels. Separates that mix and match in sleek cuts and varying tones define contemporary workwear with a lot of style. Fashion for the corporate world has never had this global grandstanding that’s seemingly refreshing from all the party or red-carpet feel.

Women are making the change from reel to real fashion, where each piece is a considerable investment and a vital component in creating one’s style-forward look. Trends recently have become significant to every woman’s wardrobe with the return of classic pieces and separates in day or night wear. Beyond the boobtube, the craze isn’t just inspired by the famous drama series, but by what women really want.
