On a happy note

MANILA, Philippines –  Music brings out the best in an individual. When shared by two countries, music becomes a unifying agent.

It was one sweet moment at the Polo Club in Makati City recently when the night was filled with classical music to celebrate the friendship between two countries. The minute Raul Sunico, president of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, played the piano at the Polo Club, the apparent harmonious relationship between the Philippines and China was all the more highlighted.

The friendship concert was presented by the Association for the Philippines-China Understanding (APCU). The APCU has always been at the forefront of initiating moves to better intensify the relationship between the two countries.

That night, music was the bind that further glued the Philippines and China as allies in the field of arts. The more Sunico played with dexterity and adeptness, the more convivial the mood became.

Chinese Ambassador Liu Jian Chao, being the guest of honor at the friendship concert, was very delighted. He and APCU president Josie Baldovino and chairman Jess Cham excitedly went up to Sunico to fete him after his performance that included the much applauded Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin and the Filipino classic Bayan Ko

With music as the reason to celebrate the friendship between the Philippines and China, the friendship concert, indeed, ended on a happy note.
