True love and destiny transcend boundaries of all kinds. Such is the story of Joanna Disini, daughter of lawyer Jesus Disini and Princess Monjierra-Disini, and Carlo Lopez, son of Richard and Mindy Lopez. Carlo met Joanna during a chance encounter in May 2006 at a bar in Makati while she was on vacation from New York. As he was immediately smitten by Joanna’s charm, Carlo asked her out for a date the next day; the rest is history filled with romance. The couple got engaged in August 2009 in Miami, Florida after Carlo’s business trip in Manila. Finally, the two tied the knot on the paradise island of Boracay in a heart-warming and picture-perfect ceremony, which was inspired by the couple’s frequent weekend trips to the beaches of Batangas. Aiming for a perfect wedding, the bride teamed up with Boracay Wedding Inc. founder Amanda Tirol who made the wedding one of the most beautiful events on the island. Designer extraordinaire Randy Ortiz surely did a wonderful job in dressing the groom and his entourage while contemporary designer Charina Sarte made the bride’s spectacular dream wedding dress. Cocktails and a grand dinner reception immediately followed, which was highlighted by fireworks, drumbeaters and audio-visual presentations dedicated to the couple. Foot-stomping music from the Boracay-based Everyday People Band had the guests and the newlyweds dancing all night.
