In celebration of the 10th year of the Cofradia de la Immaculada Concepcion as lay organization in the Archdiocese of Manila, a solemn gathering was held at the Shangri-La Makati. The celebration was led by founding chairman and multi-Papal awardee Meldy Cojuangco with hermanas Maritess Pineda, Thelma Gana and Nelly Bengzon. A solemn Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jay Lina and Monsignor Nestor Cerbo to commemorate the first decade of the group and to bless the coming years of its existence and involvement in the church. Happy anniversary! Cheers!
Aged to perfection
The posh annual Baron Philippe de Rothschild (BPDR) Gala Charity Dinner was recently celebrated at the Makati Shangri-La. Hosted by BPDR management board chairman Xavier de Eizaguirre and Titania Wine Cellar’s diva Tita Trillo, the gathering was highlighted by the Mouton Cadet, one of the finest and best-selling wines in the world under the renowned Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Aside from the crisp wine and food, it was also an evening of stunning beauties as the candidates for the Miss Mouton Cadet pageant were presented to the audience. Fifteen lovely ladies representing 15 establishments serving Mouton Cadet made their beauty and wit shine throughout the evening. New Orleans Restaurant’s chef Elaine Crispy Miles emerged as the Miss Mouton Cadet 2010, earning the nod of judges businessman Robbie Delgado, model-turned-doctor Susan Roth, multi-talented German television host Dr. George Sarakinis, Wharton-Penn Club Foundation Philippines president Sandra Poblador and Century Park Hotel Manila GM Philippe Bartholomi. Among the guests seen during the event were People Asia editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez, Princess Monjierra Disini and television personality Pia Guanio.
