Bel-Air Paraiso

Frenetic was the mood at Bel-Air recently when the village held its yearly thanksgiving celebration. The 15th Pasinaya had Bel-Air Paraiso as its theme and about 300 participants rose to the occasion interpreting flora and fauna in their costumes.

The camaraderie among village-mates was at fever pitch this time of year. Infectious laughter shared by Pasinaya performers echoed through the streets during rehearsals and performance night itself.

Indeed, the recent Pasinaya highlighted the many blessings nature has bestowed upon Bel-Air villagers. Performing Dumbellele/Noong Unang Panahon were the Bel-Air Juniors; Halleluia by Teenagers of Bel-Air; Mag-Exercise Tayo Tuwing Umaga by Senior Citizens; What the World Needs Now/Batibot/Sesame Street by Kids in Bel-Air; Apo Medley by the officers of the Barangay Village Association. Others performed Ran Kan Kan, Natural Man, Girls Can’t Help It and Boogie Wonderland.

The beautiful, world-class choreography was courtesy of Bimbim Ebol, John Co and the Martinez sisters composed of Cecille, Tintin and Lisa.

The Pasinaya theme was reinforced by showing videos in between dance numbers. These clips featured Bel-Air residents who elucidated why they love living in Bel-Air, their paradise.

As such, the video showed Rico Camus with son Rafael washing their car as a father-son bonding activity. Festival chair Nene Lichauco was shown with her grandchildren, saying that the best years of her life have been in Bel-Air. Rex “Batang” Marco, a maintenance man at the BAVA office, said that Bel-Air is a paradise for him because he is treated well there by his employers.

Tracy Tuazon, an animal lover, said the village is a haven for her pets. Popular comedian Dyords Javier, on the other hand, said that his family is very safe in Bel-Air.

Pasinaya director was Floy Quintos with Susan Calo Medina as producer and Nene Lichauco as festival director.

In Bel-Air, community spirit shines brighter than ever! Until the next Pasinaya!
