Get shorty

Short! Short! Short!

Short is one of the biggest statements for Spring-Summer 2003. Hemlines have gone tower-high while legs walk their way on the fashion frontier defining a new trend in style.

Summer begins with a splash of color and a lot of legwork to deal with those thigh-high issues. Slinky dresses to micro shorts to miniskirts in athletic, chinoiserie or utilitarian inspiration, parade the international collections breaking away from the prairie skirts of seasons past. Everything seems to be looking up as the return of the mini is on the upswing – dictating the new skirt length range, from above the knee until the panty line. It is a refreshing approach from the bohemian and hippie collections that showcased layers and layers of fabric camouflaging the skin. Breezing this summer is a spectrum of cotton candy colors, a variety of stripes, and a load full of flower power to match those mini matters. Dare to bare with this season’s must-have short orders as they show more skin for the warm days ahead.

To go really micro isn’t a tall order; those who dare not scale great heights could wear their short skirt with comfortable slim pants or leggings. Yet if you’re still worried with how those legs will look, then the safest take on the micro-mini look is to wear pencil skirts–still short and a little above the knee. Designers have created an innovative solution to keep up with the trend. Over the decades, fashion hasn’t concentrated on a certain look or a specific silhouette, the presence of a variety of silhouettes allows us to mix and match pieces to create and achieve a unique/individual style that is at the same time trendy.

Nowadays, fashion has evolved by creating options catering to a bigger market and making style accessible to all. Fashion is for everyone and this time, no one is left behind.
