Why the silence?

- Col. Antonio Parlade Jr., Spokesman/Chief, Public Affairs, Philippine Army -

A few days before the ceasefire, the New People’s Army killed ten soldiers and a nine-year-old child in a landmining incident in Northern Samar.

We ask this nation...

Where are the HUMAN RIGHTS advocates? Where are the CHILD RIGHTS protectors?

The nation hears nothing.

Where are the JOURNALISTS who believe that AFP planted the explosives as evidence to pin down Morong 43? These explosives are now killing our children.

Where are the RIGHTEOUS people who defended Morong 43 as real ‘health workers’?

There is a deafening sound of SILENCE.

Where are the PEOPLE who gave in to the deception of the enemy by signing and paying for a full-page manifesto calling the release of the Morong 43 medics?

There is no sympathy, no cry for justice for the 10 soldiers and the nine-year-old child.

SAMAR 11 needs justice too.

We ask this nation, why the silence?
