LPA enters PAR, may dump rains nationwide
MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area has entered the Philippine area of responsibility and is expected to dump rains over most parts of the country, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
PAGASA said that as of 4 p.m. yesterday, the LPA was located at 965 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon.
The Visayas and Mindanao as well as Bicol and the proinces of Laguna, Marinduque and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA said the LPA has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.
Should the weather disturbance become a cyclone, it will be given the local name Luis.
