At 4 p.m. yesterday, the eye of typhoon “Marce” was located at 220 kms east of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of 185 kph. It is moving north-northwest at 7 kph.
“Marce” is expected to be at 220 kms northeast of Basco this afternoon.
Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 is hoisted over the Babuyan and Batanes islands, and No. 1 over Cagayan and Apayao.
Extreme northern Luzon will have rains and gusty winds and moderate to rough seas. The western sections of Luzon and the Visayas will have monsoon rains, while the rest of the country will be cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Coastal waters in the rest of Luzon and western Visayas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, seas will be slight to moderate, except during thunderstorms.
