At 4 p.m. yesterday, the center of tropical depression “Lando” was spotted off the coast of Occidental Mindoro with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center.

“Lando” is forecast to be at 140 kms east-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes this afternoon.

At 2 p.m. yesterday, tropical storm “Mina” was estimated at 140 kms northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Public Storm Warning Signal (PSWS) No. 1 was hoisted over northern Palawan (including the Calamian group of islands and Cuyo Island), Oriental and Occi­dental Mindoro (including Lubang Island), Romblon, Marinduque, Ba­tangas, Laguna, Cavi­te, Rizal, Bataan, Bulacan, Quezon (including Polilio Island), Camarines Sur and Norte, Albay (including Burias Island), Catanduanes, Sor­sogon, Masba­te (including Ticao Island), and Metro Manila. 

Batanes will have stormy weather. Southern Luzon and the Babuyan group of islands will have rains and gusty winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Northern Luzon and Western Visayas will be cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain­showers or thunderstorms.

Coastal waters in the rest of Luzon and the Visayas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, seas will be slight to moderate.

Temperature forecasts: Metro Manila, 23-29 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 16-20; Tagaytay City, 21-29; Subic, Clark zone and lahar areas, 22-31; Metro Cebu, 23-30; Metro Davao, 24-33; and Cagayan de Oro, 21-32.
