Forecast

At 2 p.m. yesterday, tropical storm “Kabayan” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 130 kilometers west of Laoag City with maximum sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph.

It is forecast to move west northwest at 15 kph. Meanwhile, a shallow low pressure area was estimated at 570 kilometers east of northern Mindanao.

The provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Abra will have stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. The rest of northern Luzon will experience rains and occasional gusty winds with rough seas, while eastern  and Central Luzon will be cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the south and southeast will prevail over Central Luzon and the coastal waters along these areas will be  moderate to  occasionally rough.

Temperature forecasts: Metro Manila, 24-30 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 15-20; Tagaytay City, 22-28; Subic, Clark zone and lahar areas, 23-29; Metro Cebu, 24-31; Metro Davao, 24-30; and Cagayan de Oro, 22-29.

Tidal predictions in Manila Bay: High tide at 7:28 a.m. at 0.69 meter, and at 8:49 p.m. at 0.54 meter; low tide at 2:13 p.m. at 0.19 meter. Sunrise is at 5:53 a.m.; sunset at 5:26 p.m.
