Over 100 streamers going live on Bloomberry’s new product

MANILA, Philippines — An online gaming unit of Enrique Razon Jr.’s Bloomberry Resorts Corp. will add more than 100 streamers this fourth quarter to its new product that combines live betting and interaction.
Bloomberry unit OnlyFun.PH is onboarding over 100 streamers, mostly from video-on-demand platform VMX, to host live sessions on its newly launched service FollowBet.
OnlyFun.PH vice president for player engagement Suzy Polyanska said the company aims to ride on the emerging market for live interaction in the Philippines.
FollowBet rolls live gaming, online streaming and real-time engagement into a single platform. It will be hosted by some of VMX’s stars such as Angeli Khang and Robb Guinto.
FollowBet, which is the country’s first of its kind, allows Filipinos to watch VMX celebrities go live and play games. They can also engage with them during broadcast as they bet on games.
“FollowBet’s immediate growth focus is centered on creator-led content, with over 100 streamers slated to onboard this fourth quarter alone to scale interactive live sessions,” Polyanska said.
She confirmed that OnlyFun.PH would be introducing more titles to its platform, as it builds up its gaming catalogue to meet demand.
For FollowBet, players will be sharing the stakes with VMX celebrities they are following, so if the streamer wins, so do their viewers.
OnlyFun.PH restricts access to its games to individuals aged 21 and above. Further, the company guarantees that every stream on FollowBet is guided by content guidelines.
Polyanska said OnlyFun.PH enforces a know-your-customer identity verification to authenticate each and every player’s credentials. FollowBet, as a product of OnlyFun.PH, also observes safety protocols to protect both gamers and streamers.
OnlyFun.PH, a unit of FUNaloMAX, is the digital gaming venture of Bloomberry, while VMX, owned by Viva Communications Inc., produces films with mature themes.
The online gaming industry is taking aggressive steps to capture more gamblers and keep them inside the platform, as competition tightens in countries where they are legally allowed.
