Typhoon Queenie exits PAR

MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Queenie has exited the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Queenie, with the international name Surigae, left PAR around 11 a.m. yesterday and will no longer affect weather conditions in the country.

Based on the latest weather satellite, Queenie was last located at 865 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon.

It was packing winds of 155 km per hour with gusts at 190 kph while moving northeast at 20 kph.

Meanwhile, the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Lanao del Sur and Basilan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the intertropical convergence zone, which will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms in Palawan and the rest of Mindanao.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms but due to localized thunderstorms.
