Tour for Asean leaders’ spouses set

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino traditional arts, fashion, entertainment and food are expected to gain the spotlight during the tour of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders’ spouses at the Likhang Filipino in Pasay City this November.

First Lady Liza Marcos provided details of the tour after a meeting with the National Organizing Council (NOC) and representatives of ASEAN countries last Aug. 28.

“Productive briefing with the NOC and the other ASEAN country representatives during their walk through for the upcoming Spouses’ Tour at Likhang Filipino,” the First Lady posted on Facebook yesterday.

“Thrilled to hear their positive feedback on our detailed preparations – and even more excited to welcome our ASEAN First Ladies this November!”

The planned activities include the witnessing of a float parade with marching bands, the performance of folk dances from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and a fashion show.
