In killing of Grade 11 student

MANILA, Philippines — Two more suspects in the killing of a 16-year-old Grade 11 student in Quezon City were apprehended on Friday, police said.

According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), the suspects, both minors, were placed under custody after a follow-up operation based on the information provided by a Grade 12 student who was earlier arrested in connection with the killing.

Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio, QCPD director, said one of the suspects was apprehended at his residence while the other was surrendered by her parents.

Silvio did not disclose the identities of the suspects who are both minors.

The 16-year-old victim was stabbed several times in front of a billiards hall along Quirino Highway in Barangay Pasong Putik Proper at 9 p.m. on Thursday, following a fistfight.

Silvio said a case of homicide will be filed against the suspects before the city prosecutor’s office.

The two minors will be referred to a youth center for intervention, as Silvio said police would ensure that the rights and welfare of minors are protected throughout the legal process.
