MANILA, Philippines — A man and his wife died after they were electrocuted in Lian, Batangas on Friday morning.

Clemente Mendoza, 60, and his wife Lorena, 59, were rushed to the Apacible Memorial District Hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

Reports said Mendoza was fixing the power connection at their piggery in Barangay Malaruhatan at past 9 a.m. when he accidentally touched a live wire.

His wife tried to pull him, but she too was electrocuted.

Workers of the local electric company fixed the family’s power connection to prevent a repeat of the incident.
