No security threat to Quezon City school – police

MANILA, Philippines — There was no security threat to students of Doña Juana Elementary School in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City, police said yesterday.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) made the statement after a supposed screenshot that circulated on social media warned that “a shooter was planning to attack students.”
QCPD director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio said the spelling of “Donya” in the screenshot does not correspond to the official school name.
“It means the person who wrote the threat, identified as Lucas Garcia, could be targeting another school,” police said.
As a proactive measure, police were deployed to the school to protect students, teachers and employees.
An investigation is ongoing to track down the suspect.
Silvio assured school officials that they are treating the matter seriously.
“We urge everyone to verify information before sharing it on social media and to immediately report any suspicious activity,” he said.
Police issued the reminder amid false reports of school shootings.
