CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A Grade 10 student bled to death due to a stab wound in her neck early yesterday in Baliwag City, Bulacan.

Reports reaching Brig. Gen. Jess Mendez, Central Luzon police director, said the 14-year-old student was rushed by her mother and a teacher, identified only as Dax, to Castro Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

The mother told Baliwag City Police investigators that she checked on her daughter’s room at 3:30 a.m. and discovered the girl lying in a pool of blood.

She said the teacher was also inside the room when she did the checking.

The teacher was taken into police custody for investigation.

Probers asked the Bulacan provincial forensic unit for help in the investigation.

Initial investigation said Dax is residing at the girl’s residence along Calderon Street in Barangay Subic.

It was not clear if the teacher was renting the place or is related to the student.
