P56 million drugs seized at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines — Customs agents on Monday seized P56 million worth of illegal drugs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
Fourteen abandoned parcels contained methamphetamine hydrochloride, marijuana, opium poppy and 100 pieces of vape cartridges with liquid marijuana, the Bureau of Customs said yesterday.
BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said criminals using parcel and air cargo shipments to transport illegal drugs would be held accountable.
The confiscated items that came from the United States and different countries in Asia and Europe were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
