Real estate agent shot dead in Bukidnon

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — A real estate agent was shot dead by an unidentified gunman as he and a colleague were leaving for a property viewing schedule on Friday.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said the victim, whose name is withheld on request by relatives, was a resident of Barangay South Poblacion in Maramag, Bukidnon.

Responders rushed him to the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. 

Initial police investigation showed that the agent and his colleague were about to leave when a man approached and shot him once in the chest. 

After the shooting, the gunman calmly walked away and boarded a waiting motorcycle driven by an accomplice. 

Police launched a pursuit operation and established checkpoints in nearby areas in an attempt to intercept the suspects.
