'Tino' kills 52 people
MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Tino has killed at least 52 people, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday, November 5.
Since Monday, Tino has devastated Cebu and other areas in the Visayas regions, triggering widespread floods and landslides.
Fifty of the deaths were concentrated in Central Visayas. Two more people were killed in Eastern Visayas.
At least 13 other people are still missing, and 10 people were injured.
Around 706,000 people have been affected by the devastating typhoon, with 436,000 being displaced across evacuation centers.
At least 53 local government units have declared a state of calamity due to the devastating effects of Tino.
Tino is still within the Philippine area of responsibility, with state meteorologists raising Signal No. 4 and No. 3 over parts of northern Palawan.
It is still headed northwestward, and it will leave the PAR by Thursday, November 6.
