Walang Pasok: Class, gov't work suspensions for Sept. 25 due to 'Opong'

MANILA, Philippines (2nd update. First published: Sept. 24) — Local government units announced suspensions for classes and government work for Thursday, September 25, due to inclement weather and flooding brought by Severe Tropical Storm "Opong." 

PAGASA has raised Wind Signal No. 2 over several provinces in Visayas and Luzon. Meanwhile, Wind Signal No. 1 prevails over Metro Manila and almost the rest of the country.

Opong is forecast to intensify into a typhoon while nearing Philippine land and drawing strength from favorable ocean conditions. The storm inches closer to Bicol and Eastern Visayas, with landfall expected by Friday, September 26.

Metro Manila

• Quezon City - Child development centers and kindergarten (public) shift to alternative modes of learning
• Pasig City - Early child development centers and kindergarten (public & private)
• Valenzuela City - All levels (public & private), in-person classes only
• Taguig City - Day care and kindergarten (public & private)
• Malabon City - Kindergarten (public & private)
• Caloocan City - Early child development centers and kindergarten (public & private)
