Relic of Carlo Acutis, soon-to-be saint, to visit Philippines in November

MANILA, Philippines — A relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis, a candidate to become the first millennial saint, is scheduled to arrive in the Philippines for veneration.
According to a report by CBCP News on September 6, the relic will be in the country from November 28 to December 15.
The relic, a part of the soon-to-be saint’s body, is the pericardium—the membrane that surrounds and protects the heart—according to the Friends of Blessed Carlo Acutis Philippines.
“This historic visit is a moment of renewal and celebration for the Filipino Church, especially for our youth and families, who are invited to encounter the witness of the young saint who reminds us that the Eucharist is truly our ‘highway to Heaven,’” the group said, according to CBCP News.
The home diocese of Assisi has also confirmed the visit of the relic—Nocera Umbra–Gualdo Tadino—and its handling in the Philippines will be entrusted to the Friends of Blessed Carlo Acutis Philippines.
Meanwhile, the relic’s pilgrimage in the country will be under the guidance of Bishop Dennis Villarojo of Malolos.
Acutis, who passed away from leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15 in Monza, Italy, was beatified in 2020. He is set to be canonized by Pope Leo XIV on Sunday, September 7.
He was originally scheduled to be canonized on April 26, 2025; however, it was delayed after the death of the late Pope Francis on April 11.
Along with Acutis, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati will also be canonized on the same day.
