MANILA, Philippines —  Matapos masibak sa 2024 FIVB Women’s Challenger Cup ay paghahandaan ng Alas Pilipinas ang two-leg Southeast Asian Volleyball League (SEA V.League) sa Agosto.

Sa torneong dating tinatawag na ASEAN Grand Prix ay makakasagupa ng mga Pinay spikers ang mga koponan ng Thailand, Vietnam at Indonesia.

Ang Thailand ang tumatayong No. 1 kasunod ang No. 2 Vietnam at No. 3 Indonesia.

“What we have to do is play hard and minimize the gap between No. 4 and No. 3 and then be able to beat them,” ani Brazilian coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito. “It’s not a long way, but it’s hard. Every step is really hard.”

Nakalasap ang mga Pinay spikers ng 14-25, 22-25, 21-25 kabiguan sa mga Vietnamese sa knockout quarterfinals ng 2024 FIVB Women’s Challenger Cup noong Biyernes.

Bigo silang maduplika ang makasaysayang bronze medal finish sa 2024 AVC Challenge Cup na pinagreynahan ng Vietnam noong Hunyo.

Bilang preparasyon sa SEA V.League ay magkakaroon ang koponan ng training camp sa Japan sa Hulyo 14 hanggang 25 kasama ang ilang bagong dagdag bukod kina Creamline star Jema Galanza at collegiate standouts Bella Belen at Alyssa Solomon.

Paghahandaan din ng Alas Pilipinas ang 33rd Southeast Asian Games sa Disyembre ng 2025 sa Thailand.

“All of us are part of the Philippine volleyball environment, so we need to work really, really together. We’re not going to win, we’re not going to get better without this support,” ani De Brito.
