MANILA, Philippines — Non-uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police may be receiving health maintenance organization (HMO) cards, PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil announced yesterday.

“We are working out the inclusion of non-uniformed personnel in the health card program. There are many NUPs in the police force. It will cost us around P1 billion per year,” Marbil said.

The PNP initially prioritized uniformed police officers in the health card program.

Marbil said each HMO card has P40,000 that police officers can use per year, especially during medical emergencies. Marbil said they would start the distribution of HMO cards in July to ensure that PNP personnel would get healthcare services.
