MANILA, Philippines — After sharing photos of his Jollibee dinner with First Lady Liza Marcos, President Marcos has received a doll and thank you letter from the famous Filipino-owned fast food chain.

The President shared a picture of him holding a Jollibee doll and a letter on his official social media pages on Saturday. In the photo posted on Facebook and Instagram, the President, who was wearing a plain white t-shirt and a pair of shorts, was smiling as he showed his present from Jollibee.

“Thank you, Jollibee, for proudly representing Filipino warmth and hospitality worldwide! You spread joy to our kababayans wherever they are. We wish you more success, both here at home and around the world,” the President said in his post.

In a letter dated April 23, Jollibee said it was delighted that the First Couple chose and enjoyed “a jolly delicious dinner.”

“We wish to convey our sincere appreciation on behalf of the whole Jollibee organization. Thank you, Mr. President, and the First Lady for choosing joy,” the letter read, a copy of which was also shared by Marcos on Facebook yesterday.

“As a token of our gratitude, please accept this humble gift – our Jollibee doll representing over 45 years of our journey – symbolizing our commitment to provide great-tasting food and to become a proudly-Filipino global brand,” the company said.

In a Facebook post on April 21, Marcos, 66, shared a photo of him with Liza, 64, enjoying Jollibee staples like ChickenJoy, palabok and Champ.

The President said they were “inspired” to order from the popular Filipino fast food chain after seeing New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon drop by one of its branches in Manila on the sidelines of his official visit to the country last week.

Marcos and Luxon met at Malacañang on April 18.

“The recent stop of PM Luxon of New Zealand to Jollibee reminded me how long it’s been since we’ve eaten there so...the FL Liza and I are having a delicious Jollibee dinner tonight,” Marcos wrote on Facebook on April 21.

“My nutritionist is unhappy with me so I told her to direct her concerns to PM Luxon. Thank you PM Luxon for the inspiration!” the President said.
