LIVE updates: Traffic situation on December 24
MANILA, Philippines — Several commuters and motorists are expected to experience heavy traffic on Sunday, Christmas eve as Filipinos are expected to return to their homes amid Christmas festivities.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared December 25 a regular non-working holiday and December 26 a special non-working holiday.
The Metro Pacific Tollways South earlier said that it expects traffic at the Manila-Cavite Expressway to increasy by 15% during the third and fourth week of Deccember.
The expressways south of Greater Manila opened new exits that brought the public closer to tourist spots.
MPT has also declared a high alert status for Cavitex and Calax between December 22 and 24; December 26 and 27 and December 30 and January 2.
