MANILA, Philippines — The San Beda Law Class of 1998 is hosting San Beda Law’s Grand Alumni Homecoming on Nov. 25, 2023 at the Rigodon Ballroom of the Manila Peninsula.

The homecoming, dubbed “San Beda College of Law @75: Roaring Forward,” honors the jubilarian classes of 1973 (Golden), 1983 (Ruby), and 1998 (Silver).

Guest of honor and keynote speaker is Supreme Court Associate Justice Ramon Paul L. Hernando of San Beda Law Class of 1990. 

The San Beda Alumni Association is giving several awards to outstanding Bedans in various fields of law. Former Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea (Law Class of 1976) is Bedan of the Decade. 

Hall of Fame Awardees are Atty. Alfredo R. Rosal (Law 1970), Atty. Jesus Melchor V. Quitain (Law 1970), Atty. Rodolfo A. Salalima (Law 1973), Atty. Norberto P. Manzano (Law 1973), Atty. Alfredo C. Lim (Law 1976), and Atty. Jeremy Z. Parulan (Law 1983).  Outstanding Bedan Law Alumni awardees are Atty. Roberto F. De Leon (Law 1974), Governor Fredenil H. Castro (Law 1975), Mayor Michael L. Rama (Law 1982) and Governor Aurelio M. Umali (Law 1990)

Among other awardees are Bedans of the Year Ambassador Henry S. Bensurto Jr. (Law Class of 1990), IPOPHIL Deputy Director General Ann Claire Credo-Cabochan (Law Class 1994), Assistant Solicitor General George O. Ortha II (Law Class of 2002) and from the host 1998 Silver Jubilarian class, MMDA Chairperson Romando S. Artes and Assistant Solicitor General Maria Hazel Valdez-Acantilado.

The homecoming promises to be a night of camaraderie. It is also an opportunity for Bedans to heed the clarion call and raise funds for scholarship grants, faculty development programs, and charitable projects. One of the beneficiaries of the San Beda Law Class of 1998 fund-raising activities is the Children’s Heart Foundation Inc. which, in partnership with the Philippine Heart Center, helps economically-deprived children with heart disease to have access to quality medical care.
