MANILA, Philippines — Denying that former first lady Imelda Marcos had died, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos yesterday posted on social media a photo with her mother-in-law.

The photo, posted on Araneta-Marcos’ Facebook account, was accompanied with the caption, “Happy Sunday everyone!”

It came days after rumors that the 93-year-old former first lady had died circulated online.

Also in the photo was Tingog party-list Rep. Yedda Romualdez, wife of Speaker Martin Romualdez, a nephew of Imelda.

In a post on Facebook on Thursday, Imelda’s niece, Eliza Romualdez-Valtos said Imelda is “still strong and kicking.”

Imelda’s daughter, Sen. Imee Marcos, likewise denied the rumors.

“That’s been going around since last week. Whoever started the rumor is bad,” she said partly in Filipino.
