Sara leads top performing local execs, lawmakers – poll
MANILA, Philippines — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte emerged as the top performing local chief executives in a recent survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD).
The Feb. 22 to 28 survey found that 98 percent of the respondents in Davao City were satisfied with the performance of Duterte-Carpio, who is running for vice president.
She was followed by Mayors Benjamin Magalong of Baguio City with 86 percent, Beverly Dimacuha of Batangas City with 84 percent, Jerry Treñas of Iloilo City with 81 percent and Gerald Anthony Gullas Jr. of Talisay City with 80 percent.
Meanwhile, among Metro Manila mayors, Belmonte obtained the highest satisfaction rating with 81 percent, followed by presidential candidate Isko Moreno of Manila with 80 percent and Toby Tiangco of Navotas with 78 percent.
Rounding up the top five were Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto with 77 percent and Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan with 75 percent.
Among provincial executives, Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia obtained the highest satisfaction rating with 83 percent, followed by Sorsogon Gov. Francis Escudero with 81 percent and Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas with 78 percent.
They were followed by Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor with 72 percent and Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba with 70 percent.
Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar obtained the highest satisfaction rating among lawmakers in Metro Manila with 88 percent, followed by San Juan Rep. Ronny Zamora with 85 percent and Navotas Rep. John Rey Tiangco with 83 percent.
Also in the top five were Caloocan Rep. Along Malapitan with 82 percent and Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon with 80 percent.
RPMD said the survey had 10,000 respondents in Metro Manila and another 10,000 for the rest of the country.
