MANILA, Philippines — The resumption of classes in public elementary and high schools was moved from Jan. 2 to 3, following the Christmas break.
Education Secretary Leonor Briones yesterday issued a memorandum suspending classes on Jan. 2, the original schedule for class resumption.
The directive was in view of the circular issued by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, which suspended work in government offices on Jan. 2 in view of the holidays.
The order issued by Briones also covers work in all offices and units of the Department of Education.
Meanwhile, the suspension of classes on the said date in private schools was left to the discretion of school administrators.
