BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Hours before the Supreme Court's oral arguments Tuesday on the ouster petition against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, her supporters flocked the high court's Baguio compound.

Like Sereno, her supporters from the Coalition for Justice and Movement against Tyranny called for the inhibition of Associate Justices Teresita De Castro, Diosdado Peralta, Lucas Bersamin, Francis Jardeleza and Noel Tijam citing their alleged "bias."

Last week, the chief justice has filed five separate motions for inhibition asking the five justices to recuse themselves from Solicitor General Jose Calida’s petition for quo warranto.

The SC en banc has yet to act on Sereno’s motions.

The 14-member court, headed by Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio, is set to hold oral debates on the quo warranto petition at 2 p.m.

Sereno is expected to appear before her colleagues and address the allegations against her.
