MANILA, Philippines – The late dictator Ferdinand Marcos was quietly buried at the Libingan ng Mga Bayani, Taguig City on Friday afternoon.
Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, daughter of the late president, posted a 36-second video of the highlights of the military burial from the arrival of the remains at the national heroes’ cemetery to the funeral rites.
It was concluded by end credits of: "Salamat Apo," since Ferdinand was known by Ilocanos as "Apo Lakay."
Present at the funeral were the Marcos kin including, Ferdinand’s sister Fortuna Marcos-Barba; his widow Rep. Imelda Marcos, former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and daughters Imee and Irene Marcos. They were all wearing Filipiniana during the ceremony.
Before being buried, Ferdinand was placed by the military in a carriage with flower arrangements. He was given military honors.
