NCRPO: Manila police confiscated most drugs in 'Double Barrel' ops

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Police District confiscated the most illegal drugs among the five districts in Metro Manila from July to November, according to the National Capital Region Police Office, which has confiscated P1.84 billion worth of drugs so far.
The police district confiscated 2,222 kg of methamphetamine hydrochloride and a total of 1,689 kg of marijuana.
Meanwhile, the Northern Police District (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) confiscated the least with a total of 533.74 grams of shabu, and 136.61 grams of marijuana in the same period.
Notably, only the Southern Police District (Makati, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Taguig, Pateros) was able to confiscate raw materials for shabu, including 99 kg of crystalline granules of shabu, 298 kgs of liquid methamphetamine hydrochloride, and other raw materials. The district also confiscated 117 kg of shabu.
The district was also the only one to confiscate ecstasy, taking 1,607 tablets. They were also able to confiscate 116.5 kg of marijuana.
The Eastern Police District (Marikina, Pasig, Mandaluyong, San Juan), meanwhile, was able to confiscate a total of 320.8 kg of shabu and 108 kg of marijuana.
The Quezon City Police District confiscated more marijuana — 1,014 kg — but less shabu, 119.3 kg.
The NCRPO confiscated more marijuana at 2,942.3 kg than shabu at 2,832.7 kg. Party drug ecstasy was the least commonly confiscated, only turning up in raids in the Southern Police District's area of operations.
